The Organization’s Personnel Policy

Our Belief:

The Organization believes that a contented and capable employee is an asset in attaining its objectives. Advancement can only come to employees if the Organization depends upon the loyalty, devotion, honesty, efficiency and initiative of each employee.

The Organization believes that all employees are genuinely concerned with the efficient operation of the organization and will co-operate in exerting even effort to ensure the success of the Organization. In turn, the Organization is concerned with the well-being and security of all its employees.

Promotion

Promotion to higher grades shall be on merit. Where an employee is considered suitable by the organization to take up any vacancy in any higher grade within the establishment, He/she shall be given prior consideration over any other outside candidate for the post. The Organization is the sole judge as to the determination of any person’s merit and qualification for appointment or promotion.

It is the Organization’s policy to:

  • Give equal opportunity for engagement and promotion on the basis of merit, diligent service and conduct, depending on the occurrence of vacancies.

Employees Obligation

The Organization, on the other hand, in return for the benefits so generously conferred, expects it employees:

  1. To serve the organization loyally, diligently and conscientiously in any part of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
  2. To demonstrate a personal sense of responsibility and concern for the quality and quantity of work produced based on the principle of a fair day’s work for each day’s pay.
  3. To strive to develop and achieve a high standard of productivity.
  4. To reduce loss of working time to the barest minimum.
  5. To work efficiently to enhance the good name of the organization.
  6. To take care of all machinery, equipment, tools materials, etc. and to display an outstanding sense of commitment geared towards guarding very jealously all amenities provided for the use of the entire staff.
  7. To obey and observe all lawful instructions.
  8. To co-operate and work harmoniously with fellow employees and management.
  9. To give constructive suggestions designed to improve methods and efficiency at work
  10. To attend to their work without causing any disturbance to others.

 

 

Categorization of Employees

The general categorization of staff is as reflected in the organ gram as follows:

  1. Junior – GL1 to 5
  2. Supervisory – GL 6 to 7
  3. Junior Management – GL 8 to 9
  4. Middle Management – GL10 to 11
  5. Senior Management – GL 12 to 14

Determination of the suitability of employees to the above categories is the sole responsibility of management and/or Board of Directors. However, due to consideration will be given to education: training and practical experience of each employee before placement to ensure smooth career path.

 

Staff Training and Development

  1. The Organization will maintain a yearly local/external training programme for employees to meet its requirements of increased productivity expansion and career progression.
  2. In an attempt to encourage all employees to improve their professional skill in order to perform their duties with greater efficiency and effectiveness, the Organization will refund the examination fee to the employee on production of evidence of fees paid and the examination result passed in a relevant discipline.
  3. In Service Training: In servicing training will be fostered and developed in cooperation with supervisors and head of department for employees.

Such training may include lecture courses:

Demonstration: role-play sessions etc for the purpose of developing the skills, efficiency and knowledge of the employees or modifying attitudes in the performance of their duties.

  1. It needs to be emphasized that the benefit in above applies only professional course, which in the opinion of the management will enhance the employee’s usefulness to the organization and does not extend to general educational courses and examination.
